When our Elementary School students received their brand-new playground, the excitement was impossible to miss. But it did not take long before some of our older students started asking an important question:

"What about us?"

We heard the same feedback from parents and teachers. Our Senior School students wanted more opportunities to be active, socialise with friends, enjoy their breaks, and make greater use of our outdoor spaces throughout the school day.

We listened.

We are delighted to announce that this summer, ISD will begin the first phase of renovations and upgrades to our Senior School outdoor areas.

Students can look forward to upgraded recreation and play options, additional seating areas for lunch and socialising, and more opportunities to take learning beyond the classroom walls. These improvements are designed to create spaces where students can connect, recharge, collaborate, and enjoy being outdoors.

What makes this project especially meaningful is that it was shaped by community feedback. Through conversations, surveys, and informal discussions, students told us they wanted more games, more opportunities, and more fun. Their voices helped guide our planning, and we are excited to bring many of their ideas to life.

But this is only the beginning...

While we are proud to launch the first phase of improvements this summer, we have even bigger plans for the future. To support the ongoing development of these spaces, we have created a dedicated Senior School Outdoor Spaces Sub-Fund as part of ISD's Annual Giving programme.

This fund will allow us to continue enhancing the area over time, adding new features and opportunities based on the evolving needs and ideas of our students and community.
